If you are tired of the bustle of the big city or maybe you do not like noisy places, the Château de Malmaison is the place you definitely need to visit. Only 30 minutes by car from the capital there is a small residence, which has the memory of Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais. Thanks to the work of architects Percier and Fontaine, this castle, which was bought by Empress, changed a lot within days. Once the balls, official and political meetings were organized here. In this cozy place Napoleon and Joséphine were living until their divorce in 1809. Empress died here, and Emperor spent also here his last days before he was exiled to island of Saint Helena.
This tour includes the visit of the church, where Joséphine and her daughter Hortense were buried.
